This is my second blog. My first one started in September of 2003 and was hosted on Blogger until the good folks at Wimpkiller took me in. I wrote on a variety of topics for three years and enjoyed a slow, steady growth in readership which caused me to lose focus. Search terms that led people to my site became important. Getting links was a priority. Trying to churn out more frequent posts took up my thoughts and watered down my content. After three years of blogging, I had lost the reasons why I did it. So, I nuked the site and disappeared for a while.

Unlike before, I am clear on what I do in this space: I write because I enjoy it and I write for me, not for you. That means that I write at a frequency and pace at which I wish to write. In other words, grab my RSS feed because you might get frustrated by checking back on a daily basis hoping for something new. Also, no more sizzle. I won’t market myself any more – you’ll only get here because a search query leads you here or someone thought I wrote a post that was worth linking to.

If you found this place, welcome to the internet equivalent of my backyard… don’t feel like a voyeur, though, because I left the gate open.
